Puppy Purchase Process
At Country Oaks Farm, we believe in a puppy purchase process that is designed to be transparent, responsible, and focused on placing each puppy in the best possible family for their temperament and future role.
1. Getting on Our Waiting List
To reserve a puppy from an upcoming litter, we require a reservation fee and a signed puppy contract. Once received, your name is added to our waiting list in the order the reservation fee is received.
This order determines selection priority for each litter. We encourage families who are serious about a puppy to reserve early, as earlier reservations receive earlier selection opportunities.

2. Planned Litters & Updates
Once a breeding has taken place, we provide updates to families on our waiting list regarding pregnancy confirmation, expected due dates, and litter progress.
After puppies are born, we continue to share updates (lots of pictures and videos!) so families can follow their development as they grow.
3. Puppy Evaluation & Temperament Assessment
At approximately 6 weeks of age, we begin more detailed evaluation of each puppy’s temperament, structure, and natural instincts. At this stage, their individual personalities become more apparent, allowing us to begin the matching process.
4. Puppy Matching Process
Matching the right puppy to the right family is one of the most important parts of our program.
Puppies are matched to families in order of the waiting list. The first reservation receives the first opportunity for selection or matching, followed by the next in line, and so on.
While families may share preferences, final placement is based on temperament evaluation and breeder experience to ensure the best long-term match for both puppy and family. Our goal is always to place each puppy where they will thrive—whether as a companion, in a show home, or as a livestock guardian.

5. Puppy Selection & Reservation Confirmation
Once puppies have been evaluated, families are contacted in order of the reservation list to begin the selection or matching process.
At this time, families will be presented with available puppies that best fit their reservation position and discussed preferences.
6. Health Care & Veterinary Attention
All puppies receive appropriate veterinary care, including a health exam, age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming protocols, prior to placement.
7. Go-Home Timing
Puppies typically go to their new homes at 8 weeks of age.
8. Final Payment
The remaining balance for your puppy is due the day you pick your puppy up.

We are committed to responsible breeding practices, including careful health testing of parent dogs, thoughtful pairing of genetics, and intentional placement of puppies into homes where they will thrive.
